English Clubs
Drama Club
There are three Drama Clubs: Lower School, Middle School and Upper School. These clubs form the core of the drama which enriches the extra curricular life of the College. Normally, the clubs take place during lunchtimes. The purpose of such clubs is to build confidence and creativity in the participating pupils. The productions in Upper and Lower school often spring from work begun in the Drama clubs. There are three productions per year: the Year 7 Drama Festival, The Lower School Drama Production which is often a musical and a Drama “Showcase” which features both curricular and extra-curricular Drama produced by Sixth Form Pupils along with Dance and stand up comedy. In 2009, the Drama Showcase featured productions of work by Lorca, Liz Lochhead and John Godber and a night out at the theatre does not come more varied than that!
Creative Writing Club
The Creative Writing Club is open to all pupils and is designed to give pupils a forum wherein they can develop their passion for English writing. Pupils can use the club to discuss their work and the work of others in a friendly and supportive environment. The club takes place weekly in the College Learning Resource Centre.
