CAFOD

The Cafod Club is an organisation for all school pupils and has many enthusiastic members representing all year groups, under the guidance of MrsTaylor. The pupils have weekly meetings in Humanities 3. In addition, they are involved in many activities throughout the school week and keep in close touch with the Cafod Office in the Archdiocese.

The main activities to date have involved raising awareness of World Poverty by keeping the notice boards up to date with recent information from Cafod. The group has undertaken many tasks over the years, including the collecting of ink cartridges to raise money, as well as participating in the Cafod Family Fast, collecting old mobile phones and trading them in to raise further funds and the ever popular Christmas sale of candy canes. The Cafod group are always on the look out for new ways of raising funds for Cafod and of raising awareness. Any donations are always more than welcome! The pupils have great ideas and carry out thorough research before embarking on a task to ensure success.

Some members of the group have joined marches prior to G8 meetings to offer their support; this certainly indicates their enthusiasm, showing that their individual efforts are also continued outside of school!
