SVP

SVP, or Saint Vincent de Paul Society, is an organisation for Upper School pupils. Members meet and work each lunchtime, Monday to Friday, and participate in a range of Service through Faith activities including:

  • Working with adults with learning difficulties at the Sunday Club
  • Helping young people at a neighbouring primary school
  • Working with youngsters with severe learning difficulties at Sandfield Park School

There is always much support for SVP from the Sixth Form and this often leads the pupils to do similar work during gap years or to volunteer. There are links with the national Youth SVP organisation. SVP builds on the strong links which the College has had for many years with Sandfield Park Special School, which usually involves the SVP group welcoming pupils from Sandfield Park to the College for performances of the Lower School Productions during the Advent Term as well as the Year Seven Drama Festival in the Trinity Term.
