OE Daniel Carden moves into local politics

Congratulations to Old Edwardian Daniel Carden (OE 1998-2005) on his nomination as Labour MP for Walton. Daniel who is former Head Boy at the College, has been working as aide to the Unite union general secretary Len McCluskey for a number of years and can count fellow Old Edwardian and Labour MP Peter Kilfoyle among his supporters for his nomination.

After leaving the College, Daniel studied at the London School of Economics and worked in Parliament prior to joining Unite and has always had a very strong beliefs about social justice and welfare, as a young boy supporting his father in the Liverpool Dockers' strike.

Daniel also was part of the group of Government and Politics A Level students (pictured below left) who produced their own version of Schools Question Time Challenge at the College after winning the regional final of the BBC school competition in 2004.
