Review by Heather Sime Year 9
Green’s book is a heart-warming story that is sure to bring a tear to all readers’ eyes. The movie hit the cinemas last year, but have you even read the book that inspired the movie?
Hazel Grace Lancaster is a 17 year old girl living with Stage 4 Thyroid cancer with metastasis forming in her lungs. She graduated from school early and started taking college classes. Her only friend is Isaac from support group, but one day his handsome friend Augustus Waters attends the support group and catches Hazel’s eye.
The two teens instantly become friends and have many a crazy tale to tell. With Gus’ wit, Hazel’s sarcasm and Isaac’s jokes the three are set for one bumpy ride.
This book isn’t your classic teen romance where boy meets girl and they fall in love. This book will make you laugh, cry, maybe even scream.
Green’s book is perfectly plotted and paced, with real struggles of life this book can relate to all people in some way. Once you pick up this book you’ll struggle to put it down. Perfect read, this book is bound to stick with you, so go on, try it!
Reading is great, so why not give it a shot?
