Duke of Edinburgh Expedition
09 July 2010
Sixteen Year 10 pupils successfully completed their Bronze Expedition on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 July in the Peak District. Based just outside Buxton the pupils navigated their way around the Goyt Valley in high temperatures.
On the same day that a hosepipe ban was introduced the low water level in the Errwood resevoir - as seen in the photograph - highlighted just how dry the last few months have been.
There was great good natured competition amongst the teams in terms of navigation, speed of completion, culinary expertise and a game of rounders at the campsite.
The College has over fifty pupils currently participating in the scheme this year.
