End of Saturday Season Cross Country Report
23 January 2012
The Saturday League season ended on Saturday 14th January at Arrowe Park on the Wirral, the final meeting after earlier races at Croxteth Park, Wavertree and Stadt Moers in Whiston.
Forty-five pupils represented the College this season with great enthusiasm and commitment, often in terrible weather conditions. The Year 9 boys won every meeting and finished as Merseyside Champions. The girls from Year 7 were victorious at the final two meetings and finished as Silver Medallists and Bronze Medals were awarded to the Year 8 and to the Senior boys teams.
Two boys were named Merseyside Individual Champions in the Senior and Year 9 age groups. A Year 7 girl and a Year 9 boy were runners-up in their Individual Championships (pictured above).
The continued success of Cross Country is a result of the efforts of all the boys and girls who have taken part and it is the runners who finish near the back of the field, but become the final counter for the team, that contribute as much as the pupils who finish at the front.
Well done to all the teams.
