Paul Monaghan presents awards at Founder's Day 2010

Paul Monaghan BA Dip Arch RIBA ARB (OE 1973-1980), was Guest of Honour at Founder's Day on Sunday 21 March 2010 at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King.

Paul Monaghan was born in Liverpool in 1962. He was educated at St. Edward’s College, Sheffield University and the Bartlett School of Architecture. 

In 1989 Paul co-founded Allford Hall Monaghan Morris which, within twenty years, has become one of the country’s most prestigious architectural firms.

Paul taught at the Bartlett School of Architecture for fifteen years where he is now a visiting professor. He has lectured extensively throughout the UK and has been an external examiner at several Universities. In 2000 he joined the CABE Enabling Team where he specialises in helping local authorities procure well-designed schools.

Paul has for several years been involved with judging and commenting on the work of other architects. He is currently chairman of the Young Architect of the Year award which aims to highlight up and coming talent. Paul has always been an active member at the RIBA and in the past has been a member on their Client Advisory panel. 

He is currently a judge for the RIBA Awards Panel which presides over the Stirling Prize, the biggest award in British Architecture, as well as judging various architectural competitions. Paul has just been appointed as Vice Chair of the CABE Schools Design Review Panel.

Paul has most recently been involved in the Unity office and residential building on the historic waterfront of Liverpool; the residential building Latitude House; Barking Learning Centre and Phase II and the Westminster Academy in London.
