The Feast of St Edward

17 October 2010

Special guests, pupils, parents, staff, Old Edwardians and friends of the College are invited to the Mass to celebrate the Feast of St Edward on Sunday 17 October at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King at 11am.

All pupils are expected to attend, as they would do on a normal school day. Pupils are given an extra day’s holiday in lieu of this, as part of the October half term holiday.

Pupils are to bring their duplicate Identity Cards to the Mass and these should be handed to one of the Senior Prefects who will be on duty inside the Main Entrance of the Cathedral. Pupils and parents may sit anywhere within the Cathedral, apart from reserved areas and pupils are expected to sit with their parents during the service. Prefects will be available for anyone needing assistance. Any pupil who does not manage to hand in her/his duplicate Identity Card before the Mass begins must find their Form Teacher or Head of Year who will collect the card when the Mass has ended.

Duplicate Identity Cards will be distributed during form periods in the week prior to the Mass.

Please note that the University car parks (2, 3, 6 and 7) are available for your use. There will, however, be a charge.

Please allow sufficient time for your journey and approximately ten minutes walking time to reach the Cathedral.
