Hockey and Rugby Report
On Saturday 27 February, the Senior Hockey team beat local rivals Merchant Taylors’ School in Crosby by 9-1, with Hannah Cook scoring a hat trick, and Brittany Melville and Stephanie Moffatt scoring two goals each. Hannah, who is also a Cathedral Chorister, will no doubt plague other defences over the next two years, since she is only in Year 11.
Meanwhile, the 1st XV rounded off an excellent season by defeating Crossley Heath School from Halifax 24-18 in a hard fought match at Sandfield Park. A determined defensive display against a powerful pack was rewarded with a late try by Sean Wilson following an excellent off load by Michael Sexton.
