  • Friday 20 October: Pre-loved Uniform Sale, 10am-12pm in the Foley Building

FOSEC would like to invite parents to join us for an evening of festive food, fabulous games and dancing until midnight at the Winter Ball which will be held on Saturday 25 November. The drinks reception will start at 19.00 with festive dining at 19.30. This is your chance to ‘dress to impress’ in black tie and cocktail dresses or keep it relaxed in suits or sparkles!

Tickets are priced at £25 per person which includes a pre-dinner glass of fizz and a three-course festive meal. Tables are available for a maximum of ten people (smaller groups or couples will be seated together) and tickets will be sold on a first come first served basis. The money raised from the Winter Ball 2017 will be used for the benefit of all pupils and students at the College.

Tickets can either be purchased by cheque (payable to FOSEC and handed into the General Office) or by Bank Transfer to the following Lloyds FOSEC Bank account:
ACCOUNT NUMBER: 70664860 SORT CODE: 30-90-91
On your transfer details please use the reference 'BALL' and your Surname eg BALL_SMITH

Please complete the pro-forma on the letter sent home to all parents for all payments whether you are paying by bank transfer or cheque and return it to the College to ensure your seating plans and dietary requirements are catered for. The deadline for payments is Friday 17 November 2017.

If you are able to provide a raffle prize or indeed sponsorship of the event, your generosity is much appreciated and, as a matter of course, your support will be acknowledged in the menu card.  Please leave any items at College Reception with your details.

We hope to see you there!

'Fizz, Quiz & Chips Evening'

A ‘Quiztastic’ evening was had by all at our very first ‘Fizz, Quiz & Chips’ night on Friday 22 September. The evening started with a welcome glass of fizz and yummy nibbles and our Acting Chair provided a wonderful quiz with a picture round, blockbuster, current events and entertainment rounds and ended with a nail-biting elimination round! The winning team on the night were ‘Universally Challenged’ so congratulations to them on a very impressive score.

We were treated to a Fish n Chip Supper at halftime but these were no ordinary Fish & Chips! Oh no, not with our fabulous catering team! Handmade batter, sumptuous gravy, curry sauce, tartare sauce, lemon wedges and of course lashings of salt and vinegar and all wrapped up in ‘newspaper’. This was next level Friday night chippy tea! Thank you so much to the catering team for all their help on the evening. It was appreciated by all.

The surprise of the night was a rousing game (or rather about 20 games!) of ‘Play Your Cards Right’. A total hit with our guests (and the FOSEC team!). Eventually we had a lucky winner who scooped one of the cash prizes but we unfortunately ran out of time so the second cash prize will be up for grabs at our Winter Ball (25 November). Believe us, you do not want to miss it! All in all an amazing evening with friends, family and colleagues and a wonderful total of £810 was raised on the night so a huge thank you to all who attended and contributed.

Swing into Summer’
Our inaugural event was held in May on what should have been a gloriously sunny Saturday afternoon! Typically the heavens opened but that did not deter the wonderful parents, pupils, students, teachers, staff, family and friends who attended (260 in all!).
We were treated to the most fabulous food by the College catering team and a welcome well stocked bar! Craft tables, a cinema, an Xbox tournament, table tennis, football, basketball, and giant connect 4 kept the young (and old) happy but the star of the day
was Upper Sixth student Matthew P and his swing band. The afternoon proved so successful we will be running this event again next year. Many thanks to all who attended and a fabulous £450 was raised, not bad for our first event!
