Mobile Phone Expectations

Mobile Phones and Smart Technology Expectations

At the start of Advent Term 2025, changes will take affect to the expectations regarding Mobile Phones and any other smart technology:

  • Mobile phones cannot be used, seen or heard at any time on College Campus.
  • Pupils may hand their phone in and collect it from Student Services at the start and end of each school day.
  • Pupils will be reminded at Form Period that phones cannot be used, seen or heard.
  • A Principal’s (Saturday) detention will be issued if a pupil uses a phone or they are in possession of a phone that is seen or heard. This includes using it to contact home anywhere except within Student Services.
  • If a pupil needs to make a phone call during the school day, they can do so from within Student Services. A pupil may use the school phone or their own mobile phone only when in Student Services.
  • If a mobile phone is used, seen or heard it must be handed to a member of staff when requested: the member of staff will hand in to Student Services and it can be collected by the pupil at the end of the school day.
  • If a pupil does not hand their phone to a member of staff when requested they will have to attend the Reset Room when directed: this is to explore reasons for reluctance to hand over their phone.
  • Pupils may use mobile phones at off-site fixtures and events at the discretion of the members of staff.
