Photos from St Edward's College's post 🔬 Sixth Form student Princess A had the opportunity to take part in the Corpus Black Brilliance Residential during the Easter break. She reports below:
"During the Easter holidays, I attended the Corpus Black Brilliance Residential in Corpus Christi College at Cambridge. We had a walk around the College and ones around the vicinity, a formal dinner, and talks with researchers that specialised in enzyme activity!
We also had a talk with one of the previous alumni, who talked to us about her success journey and how she got into Cambridge. We went punting, a popular recreational hobby taken by Cambridge students, and we learnt through the history of Cambridge and how the individual colleges were formed.
Lastly, I had a mock supervision where I got the opportunity to talk to a supervisor about quantum computing and what it entailed. Through this opportunity, I had the chance to ask questions, meet people of a similar socio-economic background to myself and make amazing memories! Truly, an amazing experience!"

Photos from St Edward's College's post ✍️ We would like to highlight our pupils who were crowned winners in two categories in the Liverpool Literary Festival writing competition. The winners were:
Years 7–9: Echoes of Us by Julia H
Years 10–11: June 6th by Lyla D
The festival is in its second year and in partnership with Liveprool ONE. The competition invited pupils from across the Liverpool City Region to write a short story on the theme of ‘Anniversaries’, marking the 10th anniversary of last year’s Liverpool Literary Festival. All entries were reviewed by a panel from the University of Liverpool.
On receiving their prizes, the winners said:
Julia H: “I felt really honoured to have my writing read aloud in front of everyone. It made me proud to see my work recognised and to be part of such a special event.”
Lyla D: “It was a strange but exciting experience hearing my writing read aloud, and I’m really glad I took part. I enjoyed the day so much and feel proud to have been involved.”

🎉 A total of 264 pupils earned the opportunity to attend our popular Attendance Bingo at the end of last term, and this one was bigger and better than ever.
It was fantastic to see so many pupils enjoying a well-deserved celebration together. Well done to all for achieving 100% attendance and setting such a positive example.
Thank you to the Sixth Formers who filmed this reel for us! 21 Likes

Photos from St Edward's College's post 💻 Thank you to former chorister, John Murray, has very generously donated a set of iPads for our choristers to rehearse from at the College.
Due to the large quantities of sheet music that travel each way from the cathedral daily for rehearsals. Moving to a system where the choristers rehearse in school from an iPad, and sing at the cathedral from sheet music, will improve rehearsal routines (no more needing to find a copy!) and reduce copies being in the wrong location at the wrong time.
John said:
“Singing in the Metropolitan Choir were my happiest days while at school. It left me with a life long love of music of all kinds. You can take this skill with you wherever you go. I have tried to play almost all the instruments in the orchestra but the best one is your voice! Choral music particularly needs teamwork and such singing makes a difference to children, even in small groups. I am fascinated to see how the youngsters of today are developing and how it compares to my experiences. It’s as if putting yourself back and seeing how you’d perform. It’s so heart-warming to see this. Like all human beings you want to see the next generation grow to be bigger and better with whatever help you can give them.’
The photos show John, who flew in last weekend to Liverpool Airport in his own plane to deliver the iPads!
